Earlier in the week, a rumor spread that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was in trouble and Michael Bay himself was going to reshoot at least one third of the movie. It wasn't known if director Jonathan Liebesman would be around for these new scenes, but the extended production was said to delay the release date, pushing the anticipated reboot from its prime August slot all the way to November or December, where it would become a holiday release. It has now been confirmed that reshoots are happening, but Michael Bay denies that it will cause any delay.
Screenrant claims that the reshoots were minimal, and that star Megan Fox was only called back to set for various missing pick-up shots, which is quite commonplace.
This may be bad news for some fans, who assumed that producer Michael Bay and his team were addressing some of the fan issues that arose after the trailer debuted last week. There's no chance that the design of the turtles will be altered in any way, especially with the movie only four months away from release and a whole line of products based on the movie ready to go.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes to theaters August 8th, 2014 and stars Megan Fox, William Fichtner, Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek, Danny Woodburn. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman.
