Universal Pictures announced today that its Despicable Me spin-off Minions has been pushed from its December 19, 2014 release date to July 10, 2015. There are no other movies currently slated for release on that date, but it comes between Independence Day 2 on July 3, 2015 (which will likely move to the summer of 2016) and the highly-anticipated Batman Vs. In related news, the studio has also pushed its Untitled Illumination Entertainment Project from July 3, 2015 to February 12, 2016. No story details have been given for this project, which is being produced by Christopher Meledandri.
Minions comes to theaters July 10th, 2015 and stars Sandra Bullock, Steve Carell, Jon Hamm, Hiroyuki Sanada, Pierre Coffin, Chris Renaud. The film is directed by Kyle Balda, Pierre Coffin.
